Social Dancing Workshop with Summer McCall!
Social Dancing Workshop with Summer McCall!
On Saturday March 28th at 7PM, join artist resident Summer McCall for a ceilidh dancing workshop at the Clinton Historical Society at 1 Fountain Street in Clinton, NY. Note that this is a venue change— due to interest, we’re moving a few doors down the block to a bigger space!
What is a ceilidh, anyway?
A ceilidh (in Scottish) or ceili (in Irish) is a community party that usually features music and dancing. Dances are quick to learn and fun to participate in. This short workshop is beginner-friendly and open to all ages, so if you’ve always been curious about ceilidh dancing / contra dancing but don’t know how to begin, come join us! We’ll have live flute and fiddle tunes by Mike Carroll and Nora Revenaugh.
The dance workshop will be paired with an artist Q&A chat and time to meet the artist resident over refreshments.
NO TICKETS REQUIRED FOR THIS EVENT (admission is by free-will donation) but if you want to contribute to our refreshments budget, you can buy a ticket here!
