THE FREE COMMUNITY EVENT:
On Saturday, January 24th at 6PM, artist-in-residence Angelica Dzeli Gosiewska Palmer and performers from The Telegraph School will gather to host a COMMUNITY RITUAL beginning at the Kirkland Art Center Gallery. All are welcome! Join us in the KAC gallery at 6PM (9 1/2 East Park Row in Clinton, NY) to learn about the Koliada winter tradition, and to learn an easy caroling song as a group.
We will then sing our way across the street to the village green for an immersive outdoor performance with the Telegraph School performers, lasting about 20 minutes. Dress warmly! We’ll also be collecting free-will donations via cash and QR code at this event; 100% of proceeds go to the artists.
THE “In Residence” AFTER PARTY At Folkist Space:
Friends and members of Folkist Space and the KAC are invited to join the Telegraph School artists for an IN RESIDENCE house party with snacks and beverages at Folkist Space beginning after the performance on the green, (around 7PM on January 24th.)
The after party is a ticketed event to manage our house capacity. Claim your $5 ticket here with the code shared to Folkist Space newsletter subscribers and KAC members. Tickets subsidize the cost of refreshments and help us cap the number of attendees for our small space.
About the Artist in Residence
About Angelica Dzeli Gosiewska Palmer
Angelica is a social practice artist and ritualist working at the intersection of nature, community, and ancestral wisdom. Rooted in Slavic and Animist traditions, she uses music, storytelling, and somatic practices to create participatory experiences that foster reconnection with self, others, and the living world.
About our IN RESIDENCE Nights:
”In residence” nights at Folkist Space are part of our mission to restore the arts to their natural habitat— our kitchens, living rooms, and local neighborhoods. A cross between an artist performance and a house party, each “In Residence” night invites a Folkist Space artist resident to share a peek behind the scenes into their art practice. Immersive art sharing is followed by refreshments and a chance to meet & mingle with neighbors and our resident artist.
SUPPORT THE ARTISTS!
We keep ticket prices low to keep these intimate events accessible, but they only cover the cost of refreshments. Our artist residents are generously donating their time, and we will have a cash donation jar and a QR code at all IN RESIDENCE events. We encourage attendees offer an at-will donation to the artist of any amount they can afford— 100% of proceeds from these events goes directly to our artist residents.
