Welcome to Folkist Space.

We’re the feeling of visiting an old friend and finding fresh towels folded for you in the guest room. The fresh zucchini a neighbor leaves on your doorstep. The friend‘s grandmother who taught you how to knit or spit or play fiddle on the porch while the lightning bugs flashed over the garden.

We’re also a charging station for kindred spirits based in the Mohawk Valley of upstate New York. Offering paid stays, supportive “friendsidencies,” and a funded residency for folk artists in partnership with the KAC (now entering its seventh season), we’re expanding to include creative workshops, a free newsletter, and other resources for creative people with bill-paying and caregiving jobs. We’re here to offer breathing room for folks balancing making a living and making a life.
